AURORA: Poetry Art (art poems)
At the same time as the artistic concept for the Aurora collection was being developed, a set of paintings was also being created, which I later called Aurora: Poetry Art.
Poetry Art is based on the interweaving of motifs from the book and from its selected texts. Like writing, this process completely absorbed me, as it presented me with a new challenge. A challenge that was not only focused on transforming works of art, through which I could observe a wide range of newly born thoughts and ideas. I was especially taken by the fact that with repeating motifs it is possible to create completely new compositional formations that boast their own story and message.
Since the paintings themselves have a somewhat mystical effects and are quite intense in colors, I have placed the texts in the background of the artistic field. With this approach, I followed the idea that the texts should remain independent, clear and readable, and that they do not interfere with the central artistic motifs. Rather, they merely complement them and evoke a feeling of fusion. Thus, the texts remain minimalist, presented in a simple font, and with a preserved clear structure. In this way, I managed to create a balance between the intensity of colours and the diversity of shapes with the order and clarity of the texts.
To conclude, I wanted to create a mutual interweaving in which the texts become an expressive part of the motifs, but in such a way that both the images and the texts remain independent units, while at the same time connected within the pictorial field.
At the very beginning of my creation, I was not even aware of why I was actually creating these kinds of paintings; I simply felt that I had to. I created them for my own pleasure, for myself, through which I was guided by a voice that drew out of me a longing for that expressive style that would take me to new dimensions of myself! However, since I am aware of the fact that my poetic expression is quite abstract, I was driven by a desire for understanding deep down in my unconscious. Namely, for years before the publication of the collection, I was 'haunted' by the question of how I could bring my writing even closer to individuals so that it would be easier to understand and accept.
With this kind of creative process, I once again, in a completely new way, surrendered to myself and that intangible force, which I can also call intuition or inner voice.
Since Aurora's artistic repertoire was quite extensive from the very beginning, I did not want to present the concept of Poetry Art immediately after the publication of the poetry collection. I waited for the right moment, when that sensual voice spoke to me and told me 'now is the time'.
